I Love You Around the World

Surely it’s no surprise that as a destination wedding planner I do a lot of weddings with a travel theme or at least a few elements of travel in the decor and styling mix.

One thing I’d love to do is a ceremony backdrop {or photobooth backdrop or dessert table backdrop} with ‘I Love You’ in all of the languages of the world. I just think it’s a beautiful sentiment and especially for a well travelled couple who are having a destination wedding!

It is, isn’t it though!?!

It would or could look something like this

i love you wedding ceremony backdropI’m told this photo is by Tammy Horton Photography. I hope that is correct!

But you could make it wider or with more color or anything you want. Just be sure you get someone with good handwriting because that is so not me!

So if this is something you’d like to consider, here are a few resources. Firstly are the ‘I Love You’ ‘s because I presume you don’t know many off of the top of your head. Here are a few:

Afrikaans : Ek het jou liefe

Albanian : Te Dashuroj

Arabic : Ana Behibak (to a male)

Arabic : Ana Behibek (to a female)

Bavarian : I mog di narrisch gern

Catalan : T’estim molt (I love you a lot)

Chinese : Wo ie ni

Croatian : LJUBim te

Czech : miluji te

Danish : Jeg elsker dig

Dutch : Ik houd van jou

Finnish : Mina” rakastan sinua

Flemish : Ik zie oe geerne

French : Je t’aime

Gaelic : Tha gradh agam ort

Icelandic : Eg elska thig

Italian : ti amo (if it’s a relationship/lover/spouse)

Italian : ti voglio bene (if it’s a friend, or relative)

Japanese : Kimi o ai shiteru

Klingon : qabang

Klingon : qaparHa’ (depends where you are in the galaxy)

Latin : Te amo

Mohawk : Konoronhkwa

Navaho : Ayor anosh’ni

Nepali : Ma timilai maya garchu, Ma timilai man parauchu

Norwegian : Eg elskar deg (Nynorsk)

to name a few!

But don’t blame me if they are wrong! I got them from this full list which is  here.

And then a few places I found on how to get the actual writing on to the fabric. It’s not difficult but some guidance is nice isn’t it? Here is one and here is another.

And I’m definitely going to have to talk someone into doing this!

Ok and Happy Valentines Day in every language too! Tell someone you love them.
